Deborah Linnartz Wigington was born New Braunfels, Texas.  After graduating from Canyon High School, she began studies in Central Texas and later received her undergraduate degree from Southwest Texas State University. 

In 2002, she was awareded a Juris Doctorate degree from Baylor Law School. Later that year, Deborah Wigington began practicing law.
